Read MorePayroll isn’t all that exciting - we’ll process it for you so you don’t have to
Read MorePayroll is one of those business functions that has to be right, every time. Your staff expect to be paid accurately and on time - and HMRC expects your submissions to land on or before every payday, without exception. Get either of those things wrong and the consequences range from unhappy employees to automatic penalties, neither of which you want to be dealing with on top of running a business.
At Facts & Figures, we administer payroll for businesses across Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Scotland - from sole directors paying themselves a monthly salary through to employers with teams of fifty or more. Whatever your setup, we handle the process from end to end so you don't have to think about it.
What we cover
Our payroll service is fully managed, which means we take care of everything involved in running your payroll correctly and on time:
Weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll runs - whatever frequency works for your business and your staff
RTI submissions - every Full Payment Submission filed with HMRC on or before payday, every time
Auto-enrolment pension administration - enrolling eligible employees, managing contributions, and keeping your scheme compliant with The Pensions Regulator's requirements
Payslips - clear, accurate payslips distributed to your employees each pay period
P60s and P11Ds - end of year returns and benefits in kind reporting handled on your behalf
PAYE reconciliation - making sure what you owe HMRC each month is accurate and clearly communicated in advance
New starters and leavers - managing the paperwork and submissions when your team changes
Statutory payments - calculating and processing statutory sick pay, maternity pay, paternity pay, and similar
Keeping you informed
We don't just run your payroll and send you a figure - we keep you up to date with what to pay and when, flag any changes to National Minimum Wage rates or tax codes that affect your team, and let you know about anything coming up that you need to be aware of. Payroll legislation changes regularly and it's our job to stay on top of it so you don't have to.
Auto-enrolment - are you fully compliant?
Workplace pension auto-enrolment is an area where small employers sometimes find themselves exposed without realising it. The rules around who must be enrolled, when, and at what contribution level are more detailed than they appear - and The Pensions Regulator actively monitors compliance and issues fines for failures, including to small businesses.
If you're not completely confident that your auto-enrolment obligations are being met correctly, it's worth getting that checked. We set up and administer workplace pension schemes for businesses across Scotland and can quickly establish whether everything is in order.
Benefits in kind and P11Ds
If you provide any benefits to your employees outside of their salary - a company car, private medical insurance, gym membership, or similar - these need to be reported to HMRC annually using a P11D form, submitted by 6 July each year. We handle P11D preparation and submission as part of our payroll service, and can advise on whether payrolling benefits might be a more efficient approach for your business.
One less thing to worry about
For most small business owners, payroll is something they'd rather not have to think about. Outsourcing it to us means one less compliance obligation to manage, a team of experienced people making sure nothing gets missed, and complete confidence that your staff are being paid correctly and your HMRC obligations are being met.
All of our payroll services are offered on transparent, fixed-fee pricing - agreed in advance so you always know what you're paying.
Thinking of switching accountant?
If your accounts are currently prepared by someone you rarely hear from, or you are not confident everything is being handled as thoroughly as it should be, switching is simpler than most people expect. Find out how moving to Facts & Figures works.
Switching accountant sounds complicated. It really isn't. Here's exactly how the process works in Scotland - and why most people wish they'd done it sooner.
If your accountant only contacts you at year end, never explains anything, or you're not sure what you're actually paying for — it might be time to ask some honest questions. Here's what good looks like.
